Scholarships are gifts from Blackburn College or outside sources based on demonstrated academic ability, leadership, and community service.

+Presidential Scholarship

Annual Value: up to $15,506

Eligibility:
 Must be a full-time freshman who has achieved both of the following criteria:
  • 3.8 or higher GPA
  • 30-36 ACT Composite or 1310-1600 SAT V+M
Duration: The Presidential Scholarship is renewable for no more than four years based on good academic, work and social standing during the first academic year and minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 at the end of the second year and thereafter. Presidential Scholars will be required to live on campus and be assessed a room and board fee. State Grants are applied toward tuition before Blackburn assistance is applied.

+Heritage Scholarship

Annual Value: up to $7,754

Eligibility: Must be a full-time freshman who has achieved two out of the following three criteria:
  • 3.7 or higher GPA in Core High School Courses
  • 28-36 ACT Composite or 1230-1600 SAT V+M
  • Ranked top 10% of high school class
Duration: The Heritage Scholarship is renewable for no more than four years based on good academic work, and social standing during the first academic year and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the end of the second year and thereafter.

+Gideon Blackburn Scholarship

Annual Value: up to $6,202

Eligibility: Must be a full-time freshman who has achieved two out of the following three criteria:
  • 3.61 or higher GPA in core high school courses
  • 26-36 ACT Composite or 1160-1600 SAT V+M
  • Ranked top 11-20% of high school class
Duration: The Gideon Blackburn Scholarship is renewable for no more then four years based on good academic, work, and social standing during the first academic year and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the end of the second year and thereafter.

+Trustee Scholarship

Annual Value: up to $5,428

Eligibility: Must be a full-time freshman who has achieved two out of the following three criteria:
  • 3.41-3.60 GPA in Core High School Courses
  • 24-25 ACT Composite or 1090-1150 SAT V+M
  • Ranked top 21-25% of high school class
Duration: Trustee Scholarship is renewable for no more then four years based on good academic, work, and social standing during the first academic year and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the end of the second year and thereafter.

+Alumni Scholarship

Annual Value: up to $4,652

Eligibility: Must be a full-time freshman who has achieved two out of the following three criteria:
  • 3.21 – 3.40 GPA in Core High School Courses
  • 22-23 ACT Composite or 1010-1080 SAT V+M
  • Ranked top 26-30% of high school class
Duration: All freshmen merit-based scholarships are renewable for a maximum of four years based on good academic, work and social standing during the first academic year and minimum cumulative GPA requirements at the end of the second year and thereafter. Alumni Scholarships require a minimum cumulative GPA at the end of the second year and thereafter of 2.75.

+William Hudson Scholarship

Annual Value: up to $2,326

Eligibility: Must be a full-time freshman who has achieved two out of the following three criteria:
  • 3.00 – 3.19 GPA in Core High School Courses
  • 20-21 ACT Composite or 930-1000 SAT V+M
  • Ranked top 31-40% of high school class
Duration: The William Hudson Scholarship is renewable for no more then four years based on good academic, work, and social standing during the first academic year and a minimum cumulative GPA at the end of the second year thereafter of 2.75.

+Transfer Acheivement Scholarship

Annual Value: up to $4,652

Eligibility: Must be a transfer student with a minimum of 24 semester hours of transferable credits as a full-time student and meets the following:
  • Transfer grade point average of 3.0 to 3.49 on a 4.0 scale.
Duration: The Transfer Achievement Scholarship is renewable contingent upon maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Students falling below the required GPA will be on financial aid probation and will receive the award for one additional semester at which time the GPA will be reevaluated.

+Transfer Honor Scholarship

Annual Value: up to $5,428

Eligibility: Transfer students who achieve a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average with a minimum of 24 semester hours of transferable college credit, or transfer students from participating Phi Theta Kappa institutions with the aforementioned guidelines.

Duration: The Transfer Honor Scholarship is renewable contingent upon maintaining a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA. Students falling below the required GPA will be on financial aid probation and will receive the award for one additional semester at which time the GPA will be reevaluated.

+Sibling Scholarship

Annual Value:
$500 per year

Eligibility: Must be a full-time student with an enrolled sibling also attending Blackburn.

Duration: The Sibling Scholarship is renewable upon maintaining good academic, work program and social standing, and continued enrollment of siblings at Blackburn College.

+Affordable Access Award

Annual Value:
Full Tuition

Eligibility: New full-time undergraduate students with a Zero EFC from the FAFSA form may qualify for this full tuition award. Students must meet Blackburn Admission requirements by the set priority date. They must receive full Federal Pell Grant and IL Monetary Award Program assistance and they must participate in the Blackburn College Work Program.

Duration: The Affordable Access Award  is renewable upon maintaining good academic, work program and social standing.

+Eagle Scout and Gold Award Scholarships

Annual Value:
Up to $5,000 

Eligibility: New full-time undergraduate students that were recipients of the Eagle Scout Award or the Gold Award in Girl Scouting are eligible for this award. Students must provide documents of their Scout Achievement in order to receive an annual award up to $5,000. (This will not be in combination with the merit scholarships).

Duration: This scholarship is renewable upon maintaining good academic, work program, and social standing.
 

+Alumni Legacy Scholarship

Annual Value: up to $2,000

Eligibility: Must be a new full-time undergraduate whose parent attended Blackburn College for at least one full year.
