DESCRIPTION:The 2022 Student Wellness Challenge is designed to motivate you to incorporate healthy behaviors into your busy lifestyle. All students\, faculty\, and staff at Blackburn College are eligible to participate\, but only students are eligible for the end prizes. Points may be accumulated over nine weeks\, beginning Wednesday\, September 21st\, 2022 through Wednesday\, November 23rd. \nDetailed information including the rules of the challenge\, prizes and how to complete the official scorecards is available here: 2022 Student Wellness Details. \nEveryone who participates at a minimal level will be eligible for prizes. DESCRIPTION:October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). The purpose of NDEAM is to educate about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. NDEAM celebrates the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities past and present and showcases supportive\, inclusive employment policies and practices. In recognition of the important role people with disabilities play in a diverse and inclusive American workforce\, the theme for NDEAM 2022 “Disability: Part of the Equity Equation.” \n  \nThe history of NDEAM traces back to 1945\, when Congress enacted a law declaring the first week in October each year “National Employ the Physically Handicapped Week.” In 1962\, the word “physically” was removed to acknowledge the employment needs and contributions of individuals with all types of disabilities. In 1988\, Congress expanded the week to a month and changed the name to National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The 2021 theme was “America’s Recovery: Powered by Inclusion.” \n  \n
