DESCRIPTION:The Blackburn College Art Department hosts an exhibition in the Sharon K. Sandfort Gallery of Art in the Visual Arts Center. \nHomecoming Gallery Show Showcasing Suzy Farren \nArtist Suzy Farren will showcase her work beginning September 27 as part of the Patricia Wier Mynka Memorial Art Exhibition\, held each year during Blackburn’s Homecoming & Family Weekend. \nFarren’s unique fiber art creations — including hand-stitched pieces\, fabric vessels\, and mixed-media works — will be on display capturing her attention to detail. Her ability to reimagine everyday materials into works of art has earned her a place in over 75 exhibitions nationwide. \n“I realized a few years ago that my palette reflects the countryside – the fields and stones – where I wandered as a child\,” Farren shared with Ladue News in 2020. “I grew up in a stone house that was built in 1749! Throughout my entire career\, I was oblivious to the fact that memory of the land and the stones was buried deep within. It emerges through my art.” \nThe exhibition will open Friday\, Septemeber 27 at 4:00 pm in the Sharon K Sandfort Gallery in Visual Arts Center.
