    BIO

I was raised in a small town of Macoupin County, Benld, where my husband and I are raising our two children. I hail from a very large, very loud Italian family and love every bit of it! I attended Robert Morris University – Illinois in Springfield, Illinois graduating in 2000 with a BBA in Business Administration concentrating in Healthcare Management. I began work in the Admissions field in 2003 after spending some time working as a substitute teacher and high school women’s basketball coach.

WHY I CHOSE TO WORK AT BLACKBURN

Initially I chose to work for Blackburn because of the close proximity to my hometown. However, I have quickly grown to understand and respect the mission of the institution and look forward to helping it flourish into a first choice institution in the State of Illinois.

    WHY BLACKBURN?

The better question is, why not Blackburn? Blackburn can offer an affordable education where students are graduating with less debt than other institutions. At the same time, our students are earning four years of professional resume experience with some that directly correlate with their major. Graduating with an academic transcript AND a work transcript allows students to showcase what skills they gained over their years at Blackburn by participating in our nationally renowned Work Program. The combination of academics, affordability, and work experience is what makes Blackburn the top choice.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN CHOOSING A COLLEGE

You want to make sure that the college you want to attend is a good “fit” for you and what you want to gain from your time at that institution. You want to make sure that you visit your prospective colleges and meet with faculty and students. Take your parents or guardians with you as they will be the ones, most likely, helping you with your college decision. If you feel at home during your campus visit and your comfort level is where you desire, then that college is probably the right one for you! Remember to be open in your college search; you never know what great campus may be that right fit!

    MY HOBBIES AND INTERESTS INCLUDE

My leisure time usually revolves around my husband and two children. I have a love for Disney that is limitless! My family and I have visited Walt Disney World, at least once, for the past six years. I am a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan (aka Cheesehead) and love to cheer on the St. Louis Cardinals. I live outside with my kids during the warmer months of the year playing wiffleball, basketball, catching lightening bugs, swimming, riding bikes, etc. I think it should be 95 degree weather 365 days of the year. My favorite movie is Grease. I love the Harry Potter book series but I am disturbed that J.K. Rowling continues to offer plot changes that she wished she would have written into the books.
