A little bit about myself so you don’t feel as if you are talking to a stranger. I’m a recent Blackburn graduate. Feel free to ask me about being a student on campus! I know! Let me know what department you are interested in and I can introduce you to students and teachers both! I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and a minor in music.
WHY I CHOSE TO WORK AT BLACKBURN
I chose to work for Blackburn because Blackburn genuinely cares about it’s students. Blackburn’s primary goal is to get students the education they deserve while being affordable. I appreciated everything Blackburn did for me and the opportunities in the Work program. I chose to work here to give back to the institution that gave so much to me.
In my time at Blackburn I participated in the work program, dance club, was a Student Ambassador, a member of Alpha Psy Omega (a theater honor society), and the theater’s studio projects. With the work program I started out in Physical Plant and quickly became the Assistant Manager in Carpentry and Building Maintenance. I then was hired on by the Department of Institutional Development and was the Assistant to the Director of Annual Giving. I have worked the whole spectrum of the work program from spending all day picking up trash around campus to speaking with Alumni and donors at events. I loved both of these jobs and they gave me an even deeper appreciation for Blackburn.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN CHOOSING A COLLEGE
When I was looking it was affordability and campus environment. Having the wisdom of a graduate I would include the placement rate upon graduating.
MY HOBBIES AND INTERESTS INCLUDE
