Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Housing

Blackburn College, a unique four-year liberal arts college with a student-managed work program located in Carlinville, IL, seeks applications for the position of Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Housing. The Assistant Dean will serve as a professional staff member in the Office of Student Life under the supervision of the Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students. The Director will be responsible for leadership and administrative oversight of a comprehensive housing program serving up to 400 students.

A Bachelor’s degree and prior experience in undergraduate housing and residence life is required, while a Master’s degree with prior residence life and undergraduate housing experience is preferred. The successful candidate must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to lead when encountering stressful situations. In addition, the successful candidate will have a working knowledge of best practices for student success and development; strong organizational skills; and a proven commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The salary range for this position will be $52,500-$62,500. The final salary offered will depend on the individual’s years of related work experience and whether the education qualifications are met.
