Enrollment Coordinator for Special Programs
Department of EducationBlackburn College, a private liberal arts college with a student-managed work program located in Carlinville, Illinois, is seeking an individual to assist the Education Department Chair in sustaining the number of students enrolled in the college’s special programs. The college’s special programs include: online programs in early childhood education, online programs in teacher licensure, Blackburn & Beyond, an on-campus programs for students with intellectual disabilities. Occasional travel and occasional night/weekend work will be required.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain contact with applicants and enrolling students through a variety of communication channels
- Regularly update web and social media sites using current events, digital photographs, videos, blogs, and student graduate success stories.
- Learn detailed information about each applicant, including educational and work experience, intended program, and career goals
- When relevant, educate applicants in detail about academic programs and co-curricular opportunities on campus.
- Effectively handle concerns by applicants or parents of applicants
- Encourage applicants to apply for relevant financial aid and scholarships and explain financial aid options to new students.
- Work with applicants to complete their admission folders and review as necessary.
- Discuss payment options and work with applicants to secure enrollment deposits
- Limited travel by representing the College at college-related events utilizing mileage reimbursement
- Arrange and conduct individual sessions with students, as well as organize group information sessions with relevant audiences
- Supports the education department in the overall development and implementation of institutional enrollment and retention strategies
- Follow-up correspondence with prospective students and families
- Develop and maintain appropriate records related to travel, recruitment activities, and prospects
- Serve on appropriate College committees
- Other duties as assigned
This is an 11-month, on-campus position
A Bachelor’s degree is required, master’s degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and CAMS student database software. Possession of a reliable means of transportation and a valid driver’s license with state’s mandatory insurance coverage is required.
