Blackburn College, a private liberal arts college with a student-managed work program located in Carlinville, Illinois, program, is seeking an individual to assist the Education Department Chair in maintaining the efficiency and continuity of the Education Department by coordinating teacher licensure processes, clinical placements, assessment processes and records, and general administrative operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee and maintain the integrity of entitlement/licensure processes.
  • In consultation with the Chair, assures that the teacher education program is consistent with Illinois State Board of Education accreditation standards, administrative rules, and CAEP Standards.
  • Coordinates all placements for field experience, including student teaching.
  • Coordinates, processes, and manages data for the unit assessment system.
  • Assist Department Chair in maintaining efficient and effective departmental operations.
  • Under the direction of the Chair, maintains the consistency and quality of the Teacher Education Program within the departmental conceptual framework and the mission of the college.
  • Schedule and supervise student workers assigned to the education department.

This is a 10-month, on-campus position.

A Bachelor’s degree is required, master’s degree preferred, and significant professional experience related to teacher education are required. Professional experience in teacher education, knowledge of Illinois teacher certification licensure requirements and CAEP standards, strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills desired.
