Students may choose from three tracks: Education Paraprofessional, Education Research and Writing, and Writing and Designing Children’s Literature. This major does not lead to teacher licensure. All tracks include field experience in area schools. Students complete capstone projects during their senior year related to their chosen track.
The emphasis of this major is to provide candidates with professional coursework needed to pursue a career in education related field.
Writing and Designing Children’s Literature Track
Students take courses in education, language arts, reading, visual arts and English.
Education Paraprofessional Track
Students take education courses related to planning, teaching, assessing, and managing learning environments in preparation for becoming an organizational aid.
Education Research and Writing Track
Students take coursework related to social science research, professional writing, educational methods, policy, process, and assessment.
