FALL 2018 ARRIVAL INFORMATION FOR NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS
RETURNING STUDENTS: FRIDAY, AUGUST 17
NEW STUDENTS: SATURDAY, AUGUST 18
Returning Students: Returning students should plan to arrive on campus between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018. Please go directly to the Demuzio Campus Center to formally check-in and begin taking care of any outstanding business. Room keys will not be distributed until all outstanding business matters are handled.
New Students: New students should plan to arrive on campus between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018. Please go directly to the Demuzio Campus Center to formally check-in and begin taking care of any outstanding business. Room keys will not be distributed until all outstanding business matters are handled.
Commuting Students: Please make sure to go through the check-in process! We have important information to provide to you during that process. New students who are commuters are also required to attend the Welcome Week activities for all new students!
Travel Arrangements: All students arriving by public transportation MUST NOTIFY the Student Life Office if in need of shuttle service from either the Amtrak train station or Lambert Airport in St. Louis. Students may call the Student Life Office no later than Friday, August 10, 2018 to schedule pick up or for more information at 217-854-5512.
Overnight Accommodations: Members of your family or friends are more than welcome to accompany you to Move-In Day. Blackburn College does not have the capacity to provide overnight accommodate for your guests, however, there are hotel options available for bookings. The Magnuson Grand Hotel is 15 minutes east of the college at I-55 and Route 108, (217) 324-2100. Litchfield offers additional hotel opportunities and is a 20 minute drive from Carlinville. Litchfield options include the Hampton Inn, (217) 324-4441, and the Holiday Inn Express, (217) 324-4556.
College Business Matters: All administrative offices will be open Friday, August 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturday, August 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m to allow students to take care of any outstanding business matters or fee payments that have not been completed. The Bookstore will also be open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to purchase textbooks and any other Blackburn merchandise.
