Arrival Information for New and Readmitted Students

Returning Students: Returning students should plan to arrive on campus between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2016. Please go directly to the Demuzio Campus Center to formally check-in and begin taking care of any outstanding business. Room keys will not be distributed until all outstanding business matters are handled.
New Students: New students should plan to arrive on campus between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2016. Please go directly to the Demuzio Campus Center to formally check-in and begin taking care of any outstanding business. Travel Arrangements: All students arriving by public transportation MUST NOTIFY the Student Life Office if in need of shuttle service from either the Amtrak train station or Lambert Airport in St. Louis. Students may call the Student Life Office no later than Friday, August 5, 2016 to schedule pick up or for more information at 217-854-5512.

Overnight Accommodations: Members of your family or friends are more than welcome to accompany you to Move-In Day. Blackburn College does not have the capacity to provide overnight accommodate for your guests. However, there are hotel/motels that are available for bookings. The CarlinVilla Motel, (217) 854-3201, is located off of Route 4 in Carlinville. The Magnuson Grand Hotel is 15 minutes east of the college at I-55 and Route 108, (217) 324-2100. Litchfield offers additional hotel opportunities and is a 20 minute drive from Carlinville.
College Business Matters: All administrative offices will be open Friday, August 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.and Saturday, August 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m to allow students to take care of any outstanding business matters or fee payments that have not been completed. The Bookstore will also be open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to purchase textbooks and any other Blackburn merchandise. There are no facilities on campus to deposit cash; however, the Business Office will cash personal checks for small amounts. Students can visit local banks beginning on Monday, August 22 to open personal checking accounts if they choose to do so.
