Blackburn College has named Molly Suttles as its first Cheer coach, launching a new era of spirit and involvement on campus. Suttles will lead the College’s new club cheer program, which is set to begin in the 2025–26 academic year, with plans to expand the program into a competitive team in the coming years.
A Carlinville native, Suttles brings more than five years of coaching experience at Carlinville High School, where she has served as the Head Cheer Coach since 2022, following her tenure as an assistant coach. She led football and basketball game-day squads, planned pep rallies and school spirit events, and organized fundraisers and community outreach projects. Suttles also brings personal experience competing at the collegiate level, cheering at McKendree University from 2017 to 2021, where she competed at both NCA College and UCA College Nationals.
“I am excited to help build Blackburn’s new cheer program and create a space where students can grow, develop their skills, and be part of something that lifts the entire campus community,” Suttles said. “My goal is to create a supportive, fun, and encouraging environment for every participant while building a strong foundation for the future.”
