Blackburn College is pleased to announce the appointment of Megan Beeler to the faculty as a tenure-track Professor in the Department of Business and Economics. Professor Beeler brings over 15 years of teaching experience and a deep background in agricultural economics, regional development, and financial management.

Professor Beeler holds a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, where her graduate research focused on spatial and regional economic theory as applied to food processing plant location choices. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness, Farm, and Financial Management with high honors from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and participated in international agribusiness study at Katholieke Universiteit in Leuven, Belgium.

At Blackburn, she has taught a wide array of courses including Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Entrepreneurship, Personal Finance, and Career Planning. Her teaching emphasizes real-world applications and student engagement through interactive materials, digital tools, and practical career readiness.

Outside the classroom, Professor Beeler is dedicated to serving her community.  Most recently she served on her local Ambulance board and prior to that appointment served for a decade as an elected official on the Montgomery County Board, where she led as Vice Chair and chaired the Finance Committee. Her extensive leadership in local government finance and economic development has included budget oversight, capital planning, union negotiations, and pension management—experience she brings directly into her teaching.

In addition to her public service, Professor Beeler has worked as a farm laborer, market analyst, course designer, and community development coordinator. She has published in academic journals and industry newsletters and presented research at national conferences on rural development and manufacturing investment.

Professor Beeler’s commitment to both student success and community impact makes her a valuable addition to the Blackburn College faculty.
