Blackburn College is inviting residents of Carlinville and surrounding communities to take part in its 8th Annual Beautification Day on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

This growing tradition brings together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members for a day of hands-on service dedicated to enhancing the beauty and welcoming atmosphere of Blackburn’s campus. Volunteers will work side-by-side on a variety of projects, including landscaping, planting, painting, mulching, and general grounds improvements.

Organizers say the event is a unique opportunity for community members to connect with the College and make a visible, lasting impact.

“Beautification Day is about more than just improving campus—it’s about bringing people together,” Jeanna Supple ’81, Beautification Day Co-Chair, shared. “We welcome anyone from the Carlinville community who wants to lend a hand and be part of something meaningful.”

This year’s event aims to engage 160 volunteers and raise $14,000 to support materials and project costs. Donations are also encouraged by those unable to attend in person, but who still wish to support the effort.

Beautification Day will begin in the morning and conclude with lunch for volunteers. No special skills required, just a willingness to help and be part of a collaborative day of service.
