Dr. Collin Vorbeck, Professor of Theatre, will direct the delightful and quirky musical, which takes audiences into the intense and comical world of competitive spelling. Dr. Joseph Welch, Professor of Music, will direct the music.

Vorbeck explained, “In The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, we encounter a group of young spellers trying to make it to the national spelling tournament who are forced to overcome a variety of obstacles as they face off against their opponents – and often themselves. Filled with unique characters, clever songs, and more than a few heartwarming moments, this musical reminds us that the only way to move forward in life is to meet our fears head-on and conquer these challenges with resilience, bravery, and friendship.”
