Activities & Events
The Blackburn Physical Education Department is involved with the Macoupin Center for Developmental Disabilities in Carlinville for special programs that benefit everyone. Blackburn students enrolled in Physical Education for the Atypical Child, attend MCDD events to observe and learn, then work hands-on with developmentally disabled persons to design learning activities.
As part of their work with MCDD, students choose a disability and write on their field experiences. The program has proven highly popular with Blackburn students and MCDD attendees alike.
