Blackburn Adjunct Professor of Art Odell Mitchell, Jr. was recently inducted into the Missouri Press Foundation’s Photojournalism Hall of Fame. Professor Mitchell worked as a photojournalist at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch 1983-2007 and has been teaching photography classes at Blackburn College for more than 14 years.
The induction ceremony was held at the State Historical Society of Missouri in Columbia, MO. Professor Mitchell stated, “I was so honored and humbled to be inducted into the Missouri Photojournalist Hall of Fame. I thank God for giving me the talent to be a photographer and my parents for the sacrifices they made to raise me.” He said he truly loved working as a photojournalist.
