Blackburn College has named Justin Norwood Vice President for Inclusive Enrollment. In this leadership role, Norwood will provide high-level strategic direction for the College’s admissions, enrollment, and financial aid operations. He will also lead efforts to strengthen relationships with regional high schools and partners, support retention and student success efforts, and help ensure that Blackburn thrives as a distinct institution where leaders rise.

Norwood steps into the role with nearly 20 years of higher education experience. Joining Blackburn in 2005, he has served in positions of increasing responsibility, from Admissions Counselor to Assistant Director and Director of Admissions. Since December 2022, he has held the position of Interim Vice President for the College and a member of the President’s leadership team.

“Blackburn is a place where you can pair a powerful liberal arts education with real-world work skills as part of the only student-led Work Program in the world. It’s a unique College with a significant commitment to ensuring underserved students, families and communities have access to a transformational education,” said President Gregory J. Meyer. “We appreciate Justin’s work in this critically important area, and, following a competitive search, believe he is ideally suited to leverage his knowledge and experience to help us promote new student enrollment growth at Blackburn.”

“I believe in the potential of every student who joins our community,” Norwood expressed. “Throughout my time, I have been inspired by the transformative power of a Blackburn education and the students we serve. I am honored to take on this new role, where I can leverage my experience and work with other strategic partners on campus to create innovative enrollment strategies that will create access and empower students to achieve their dreams.”

A Blackburn alumnus, Norwood earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 2003. He officially began his duties as Vice President this summer.
