Meet Professors and Current Students, Learn about Opportunities, Tour Campus, and Get Instant Admissions Decisions at the Events

Interested students and families will have two excellent opportunities to learn more about Blackburn College as their Admissions and Financial Aid team is set to host open house events this fall. For students who bring their official transcripts, it may be possible to get an instant admission decision and find out immediately if they can attend Blackburn. The Fall Open House events are Monday, October 9, and Friday, November 10, with both events beginning at 8:30 am.

Each Open House event is designed to be an engaging opportunity for prospective first-year and transfer students to gather important information about the college application process. Throughout the day, students and their families will tour the beautiful 80-acre campus, make personal connections with current students and professors, and get to know what life is like as a Blackburn student. In addition to a complimentary lunch, they will see first-hand Blackburn’s unique approach to education as the only student-managed Work Program in the nation and discover how graduates build full resumes to give them a four-year head start to launch their future careers.

“Searching for a college is an exciting step in a student’s academic journey,” said Justin Norwood, Vice President for Inclusive Enrollment and Blackburn graduate. “Finding the right fit is not only about academic programs and exploring campus; it’s an opportunity for prospective students and families to envision themselves as part of our vibrant and supportive community. These events will do all that while sharing the benefits of a four-year college degree at an affordable price.”

U.S. News & World Report ranks Blackburn as a top-ten performer in social mobility and one of the best colleges in the Midwest region for 2024. The Washington Monthly ranks Blackburn first in Illinois for performance by students receiving Pell Grants and has previously listed Blackburn as the best baccalaureate college in Illinois. Blackburn’s Admissions and Financial Aid team will be available throughout the event to answer all your questions, including about opportunities like the Macoupin Promise – where qualified graduates of Macoupin County high schools can attend Blackburn tuition-free.
