Blackburn College Giving Day: A Week of Help + Hope is underway! Rally your classmates, family, and friends to come together to make a profound difference in the lives of our students and our College.
Your generous, steadfast support is something we depend on year after year! All gifts of all sizes will transform lives of Blackburn students and inspire hope for the future. And this year, we’re having a little fun along the way:
- $1,000 Gift Challenge—Are you an alum from class years 2000 – 2020? If so, a total of 10 gifts from these class years BEFORE 10 AM will unlock a $1,000 challenge gift! Start the day off right with your best gift of Help + Hope.
- Alumni Class Challenge—Rally your classmates and compete in the inaugural Class Challenge! Destined to be an annual Giving Day event, the class with the highest participation percentage gets (1) bragging rights, of course, and (2) a banner acknowledging the winning class hung in Jaenke Alumni Center for an entire year!
Giving Day Sponsors & Specials
We’ve rallied the Carlinville community and they have STEPPED UP! The following local restaurants are financially supporting Giving Day in a profound way and are hosting other Blackburn supporters during this Week of Help + Hope. This week, make your meals matter!
- Monday, May 6—Visit Panda Chinese Restaurant on the square anytime on May 6 and Panda will donate 20% of sales to support Giving Day
- Monday, May 6—From 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., Carlinville Dairy Queen will not only donate 10% of sales to Giving Day but will also offer two Blackburn specials:
- The Blackburn Big Q Meal–$2 off regular price
- The Blackburn BOGO—buy one mini Blizzard, get the second for just 99 cents
- Wednesday, May 8—visit Taylor’s Mexican Chili Parlor during lunch from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on May 8 and Taylor’s will donate 20% of their proceeds to Giving Day
- And through a generous donation, The Wood Duck is a platinum sponsor for the entire Week of Help + Hope. Visit them on West Main St just east of the railroad tracks for daily specials all week!
What is Giving Day?
The purpose of Giving Day is to engage our community to advance the mission of the College while raising critical funding for student needs.
Giving Day is Blackburn’s largest fundraising event, when people around the world come together to celebrate and support what they love about the College.
Giving Day is an opportunity to show your love to Blackburn! Alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of Blackburn are encouraged to participate. Your donations to Blackburn College can support scholarships, student services, enhanced academic programs and MUCH MORE!
