Traveling Transfer Admissions Counselor (Internal)

Blackburn College, a unique four-year liberal arts college with a student-managed work program located in Carlinville, IL, seeks internal applications for the full-time position of Traveling Transfer Admissions Counselor. The successful candidate will be energetic, creative, highly organized, and able to communicate effectively with prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, and community college transfer counselors.

Essential job functions:

  • Meet enrollment goals for assigned target recruitment areas
  • Travel on behalf of the College for recruitment and other college-related events
  • Speak publicly to individuals, groups on and off campus
  • Enhance the Admissions presence in various social media platforms.
  • Operates out of the department CRM and SIS
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with key community college constituents
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the admissions office’s recruitment and marketing plan with the purpose of promoting the College’s visibility and general recruitment efforts
  • Assist in the development, maintenance and execution of the department’s communication plan to prospective and admitted students
  • Evaluate and execute admission decisions on applicant files
  • Participates in professional development activities including annual conferences
  •  Supports campus stakeholders in the overall development and implementation of institutional enrollment and retention goals
  • Serves on appropriate College committees

A Bachelor’s degree is required for this role. The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory experience, experience with Microsoft Office, experience with Slate student database software, practical knowledge of student financial aid programs, and have a reliable means of transportation/a valid driver’s license. This role will require some night and weekend work/travel.

The salary for this position will be $44,000 per year.
