At Blackburn College, we believe that a college education is one of the most important investments a student will make. Blackburn’s tradition of attracting students is a result of a comprehensive financial package that includes merit-based scholarships, need and non-need based grants, state and federal funding, and the institutions’ tuition work credit. With one of the lowest private college tuitions in Illinois, we are committed to making your Blackburn College education affordable.
Apply for Financial Aid
Applying for financial aid begins with filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The application is available at https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa beginning October 1 each year.
Step-by-Step FAFSA Application Process
- Request a FSA ID, your electronic signature for FAFSA on the Web. Separate and unique FSA ID numbers are required for students and parents (of dependent students). Be sure to keep these FSA ID number(s) as you will need them to file the FAFSA each year, sign federal loan applications, and access your student aid history online.
- File the FAFSA after October 1st for the upcoming year. Be sure to include Blackburn College’s school code of 001639.
- View and accept your awards on your Blackburn College Student Portal.
- If your FAFSA is selected for a process called, “verification”, submit signed copies of student and parent(s) IRS tax return transcripts, along with a completed Verification Worksheet to the Office of Financial Aid.
